With Love

Hi everyone, I hope you're all well. Thank you for all your lovely comments on my last post (aaaaages ago!!), emails, Facebook messages and beautiful Christmas cards. I'm so sorry if I haven't replied before now, but things have been very difficult. Just after my last Post my mum was taken into hospital again and was in for nine weeks. She came home on the 16th January but was readmitted the next day. She came home again on 5th February but was taken in again yesterday. If she recovers enough to be discharged again she will be going into a nursing home. She has fought so hard against this but she is too frail and unstable, both medically and mentally, to live alone even with carers. My whole world has been turned upside down and, apart from honouring my Quick Cards commitments, I haven't made a single card. I've missed blogging so much and tonight is the first time I've even felt like logging on - so here I am!

Today's card was made last summer, I think, but never got posted. As it's almost Valentine's day it seems the perfect time to share it. If you saw one of the Christmas issues of QC you'll notice I've CASED one of my own designs as my mojo had already disappeared! I've used the gorgeous Tags and Textures stamp set from Inky Doodles.

I hope to catch up with you all over the next few days and maybe even make a few cards as it's half term!
Thanks for visiting.

Snow Kisses!

Hi everyone, yes it's me again back so soon! Don't worry it won't last, lol! As I'm writing this I can hear the wind outside and I'm hoping the storm is not going to be as bad as the forecast.

My Post today is to share my DT make for DigiStamp Boutique. This week I've used one of the images from the Cute Penguin Set that you can see here. The set also comes with some fab sentiments.

This card brings me to the grand total of two Christmas cards made - looks like I'll be buying some again this year! At last, though, I have a card to enter into Sarn's Rudolph Day Challenge!

Thanks for all your visits and lovely comments this week - I promise to leave you in peace for a few days now!

Always and Forever

Hi everyone, hope you're well and having a good weekend. Just a quick Post tonight to share my latest make for Inky Doodles. I've used the A6 In my Heart set which is in the sale at the moment, so grab yourself a bargain for just £4.50! The background is the Leafy Background stamp that you can see here.
I love both of these sets and I know I'm going to use them a lot. I think this would be lovely for a winter wedding or anniversary. Hope you like it.

Sarah posted this photo on Facebook earlier and I've had two  orders - that's never happened before!
Thanks for visiting !

Star Angel

Hi everyone, hope you're all well. Here I am with a second post in the same week - yay! A while ago the lovely Sarah of Inky Doodles sent me a package of gorgeous stamps to make some samples and, with everything that's been happening, I've only just had a chance to start having a play. My card today has been made with the Star Angel set and Starry Background. You can see them both here. I think you'll agree that Sarah has so many fabulous stamp sets, so apologies if I make you spend money, lol!
Whenever I settle down to make cards I never intend for them to be so CAS but somehow that's always what I end up with. So here's another!

Thanks for visiting - I'll be round to see you soon.

From Our House ...

Hi everyone, hope you're all well and having a good weekend. Almost a month has passed since my last Post and I really don't know where the time has gone! Unfortunately, two days after I posted my mum was taken into hospital with heart failure and she was in for almost three weeks - no wonder she didn't seem herself! Although she's home now, she hasn't been discharged as the cardiac nurse and district nurse are visiting her at home. So huge apologies for not visiting your blogs but I hope to catch up with you all very soon.

Not only have I been a terrible blogger, I've been the worst DT member ever; it's a wonder I haven't been sacked! So my card today has been made using one of the latest images and sentiments from DigiStamp Boutique. It's called Snow Family and it's one of this month's special offers - fab!! You can see it here. I really enjoyed paper piecing the hats and scarves - hope you like it!

That's it from me for now but I hope to be back in a few days with something from Inky Doodles!
Thanks for visiting, I appreciate it very much.

Happy Halloween

Hi everyone, hope you're all well and enjoying some of the gorgeous sunshine. I packed away my summer clothes and bought a new winter coat on Thursday as it was freezing and I got soaked in the rain - typical, lol!

I'm sorry I've been such a terrible blogger lately but Mum just isn't herself at all. There's so much going on with her health (and my own) that my whole routine is upside down and the days and weeks are just passing in a flash! I managed a short time in my craft room yesterday but it was one of those 'I'm getting nowhere times' and I just couldn't relax enough to make anything I was happy with. So today it's one of those 'can't wait for it to disappear off the page' cards, lol! I feel as if I've got to post something or I'll never get back into it - does that make sense?!

This little sweetie is part of September's offer of the month at DigiStamp Boutique. It's a fab Halloween Squares set that comes complete with the spider background paper in four colours. For the first time ever since I started making cards, I ran out of smooth white card so I had to use linen. Not the effect I wanted but never mind.

I'm off to get things ready for work tomorrow and I'll be round to catch up with as many of you as I can later.
Thanks for visiting.

Festive Pixie

Hi everyone, hope you're all okay. I can't believe it's three weeks since my last Post and that I'm back to school tomorrow - where did the summer break go?! I didn't do half the things I'd planned but my Mum is getting better and more independent every day and that's more important. I have my three day working week to look forward too as well -yay! It feels really strange thinking of myself as semi-retired and getting a pension, lol! Hopefully, I'll have lots more time to make cards, crochet and knit. I'm also planning to do a beginner's sewing machine course - fingers crossed!

So, onto my card for today - a cute little Pixie from the Festive Pixie Set by  DigiStamp Boutique. Isn't he sweet!!

Thanks for visiting today and I'll be round to visit you as soon as I can.

For Molly

Hi everyone, hope you're all well. A very quick post from me today as I'm going to my mum's in a minute. I'm happy to say that she was discharged from hospital yesterday but, obviously, still needs looking after. We were told at first that she would be going somewhere for rehabilitation but she made so much progress she was allowed home instead. That's just typical of my mum; there was no way she was going anywhere except home, lol! I stayed with her last night and have popped in and out all day - luckily she only lives five minutes away.

My post today is to share my back to school card for Molly. It doesn't seem like five minutes ago that I made her one for when she was going into year 3! This time I've used an older image from DigiStamp Boutique called Off to School Rosie that you can see here. She's so cute!

I'm planning a big catch up with you when I get home later.
Thanks for popping by!

Smiley post!

Hi everyone, hope you're all okay and you've had a good weekend. As the title says, this is a smiley post (makes a change, lol!) So, what's made me smile this week? Firstly, my Mum's operation went well and she's improving a little more each day - what a relief! I know it will be hard when she gets home but we'll get there. The second thing that made me smile was a lovely photo of my gorgeous little granddaughter, Lucy. She starts school in September and when her mum bought her
uniform she couldn't wait to try it on. It inspired me to make the card I'm posting today. I've used the very sweet Maisey Starts School  image from Digistamp Boutique with the sentiment from the Off to School set you can see here. The papers are DCWV Kidlet stack. The apple had to be green as Lucy only likes Granny Smith's!

And here's the photo that made me smile - bless! She just loves her book bag!

The final thing that's made me smile is crochet again (sorry!) This time it's these gorgeous Rose Heart Hangers that I've learned to make, inspired by the incredibly talented Lucy of Attic24. You can see the pattern and her blog here.

The lilac one is mine and the other one is for my mum. Molly and Lucy have 'ordered' theirs too!
That't it from me for now - thanks for visiting!

Don't forget you can still enter the draw for my crochet DVD here.

Have a tea-riffic day!

Hi everyone, hope you're all okay. Thanks for all your good wishes for my mum for her operation tomorrow. I have to admit that I'm very apprehensive about it but I can't tell her that. It's not the op itself (she's getting another new knee) it's the other problems she has with her heart that make it more worrying. My mum is an amazing lady and the bravest person I know. During the last ten years she has had a triple bypass, a new heart valve and a new knee. She has to have regular echo tests, a camera down her throat, to monitor a clot in her heart and refuses to have any anaesthetic as she wants to see whats going on! She faces everything with such dignity and courage and never lets things get her down for long. At 78, she still drives, looks after herself, her little dog and her house and manages her umpteen different medications without any help. I love her so much.

Yesterday was my day for posting my DigiStamp Boutique DT card but my mojo was nowhere to be seen! As I was trying to get off to sleep last night I was thinking about my mum and then about my friend who is getting married next year. She is having a vintage theme and the reception will be afternoon tea in her garden. Suddenly Mrs Mojo was back and I could hardly wait to get up this morning to actually make something!! I've used the gorgeous Tea Time Set and some pretty Cath Kidston style papers I unearthed in my stash. My base card is ivory which makes a nice change and suits the vintage style, I think. Hope you like it.

I'd like to enter this card into this week's Paper Players Challenge - PP156 Sketch from LeAnne

Before I go, I want to share a couple of small things that have made me happy this weekend.

Lavender from my garden that smells beautiful on my craft room window ledge.

I learnt to crochet these little heart shaped key rings - I love them! You can see the pattern here. I have a couple of other things on the go too and really feel as if I'm getting somewhere with my crocheting now and am beginning to read patterns. So much so, that I don't think I need my Wendy Poole DVD  any more. It's a great DVD to get you started so, if you'd like it, just leave a link below. I'll draw the winner on 14th August.
Thanks for visiting!

Hi everyone, hope you're all well. Sorry I've been such a bad blogger again - there's been so much going on and after putting in a brief appearance three weeks ago (where has the time gone?!) my mojo disappeared again!  Today's card is one I started last weekend for this week's LIM challenge but, after shuffling the bits of paper around and getting nowhere, I put it away until this afternoon. Chrissie and Jen want us to use hand made flowers this week so it was a good opportunity to use my new Die-namics flower die. The papers and sentiment tag are from DigiStamp Boutique - so pretty!

My mum is going into hospital for an operation on Tuesday so I'm not sure if I'll be around much.
I'm on my way to catch up with you all now, though!
Thanks for visiting.
